Matthew W. Kreuter is a leading national expert in the fields of health communication and health disparities. He is the founder and Senior Scientist of the Health Communication Research Laboratory (HCRL), now with more than 24 years of continuous funding.  Dr. Kreuter’s research focuses on using novel, but practical, approached to eliminate health disparities, primarily by connecting low-income and minority individuals to needed health and social services. Through many community-based studies, he has gained a rich understating of the lives of low-income Americans, the often challenging social and environmental contexts that shape their decisions and actions, and effective ways to reach and engage them around health matters.
